Zero Waste Academy
Under the focus pillar of ‘Circularity Education’, the Zero Waste Academy, launched on 28 March 2026, in conjunction with International Day of Zero Waste, aims to be the premier academy for circularity education and waste literacy, touching on various topics that align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and national goals (eg. Singapore Zero Waste Masterplan).
Through experiential lessons and hands-on programmes, Zero Waste Academy will offer learning pathways for all ages - from pre-school children, students, families, to working professionals. It will partner local and international education providers to deliver high-quality, real-world learning that helps individuals and organisations take meaningful action towards a more circular, zero-waste future.
Under the Zero Waste Academy, Zero Waste SG launched the Zero Waste Explorers programme in March 2025, a programme that sees pre-school students learning about concepts of waste and circularity through a series of story-telling and hands-on workshops. This one-of- its-kind programme adopts a whole of society approach to nudging for habitual changes and action, ensuring that educators and parents/care givers are equipped with the tools needed to support the circularity practices that the child might introduce in their lives.
The Zero Waste structured schools programme was developed to empower stakeholders within the school to care inclusively and practise values-driven environmental education (EE). It aims to help these stakeholders achieve practical knowledge of values-in-action, through learning how to be sustainable in their waste management practices with a comprehensive management approach in a school environment, through a series of activities from workshops to learning how to infuse EE practices in daily existing programmes.
